Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.
Law enforcement state they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Police then discovered many other vandalized cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
These symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials state early analysis suggest the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no clue as to its origin; officials are currently not aware of any injuries in connection with the event," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the community for details.
A high-ranking official said the attack left him without words and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a assailant aiming at residents of foreign heritage in five years prior.
